Does Your conure/parrot have funny eating habits?

Do you know how lil kids will only eat like their favorite color skittles in a pack? I've got my conure on Zupreem Conure diet (with a few seeds and fruits and veggies and treats ect), but he only eats the green, yellow and orange pellets. He leaves the red and purple ones in his dish. Should i encourage him to eat those by waiting to change his food cup or just ignore it and act like he doesn't do that? Is this weird for parrots or are they all kinda quirky and smart like that. He's really smart in general, he's one of the fairly decent talking nanday's and is ALWAYS into something.
