Did a first response test this morning, 17 days since .. how accurate?

am on the pill but had a stomach bug before my pill free week which is also the week i had ...I'm worried that the pill may have bn comprimised.. I did a test this morning and it was negatve.. how accurate wld it be or will i have to wait til friday which would make it exactly 3 wks since i last had ..
